JSA from contributions to income based

Hi, I have been claiming JSA for 6 months. Checking my bank statement I realized I have gone into my overdraft due to not receiving any JSA for the past month. I phoned them and they told me it was because the contributions based JSA had run out and I now need to fill in a form to apply for income based. I sign again tomorrow and will ask for the form.
My question is have I lost that month's money now? I know it's very unlikely to get JSA backdated when you first claim, but is this situation any different. I have been signing on every two weeks and fulfilling my job seekers agreement.

If you are single on and your own with no partner then yes you should get the backdated payment amount due. I am surprised that this was not picked up when you last signed on. It should have been.0

A computer generated letter will have been sent some weeks before it ran out."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Assuming you did not concede the existence of a material fact that would preclude entitlement to income based JSA when making the claim, the form JSA3 is an entirely administrative concept and there is no legal basis not to have paid you0

Unless the OP only applied for Contribution Based JSA. In which case, no assessment of their household income, savings or capital was made and a JSA3 is required to alter the claim to income based.0 -
that's what I said0
