Missing premium bonds

Hi my Nan bought me a £2 premium bond in the seventies, for ages I just had a bond with a number on then late nineties I updated my new name and address. They sent me a holders card and number but have moved a few times, lost that and not updated address. The bond itself is packed away somewhere and so I used the tracing service. I have given them so much info but they are saying there are no bonds in my maiden or married name and nothing at any of the addresses I have given. I have given them my nans name, date it was purchased and post office it was purchased at. They have assured me that the bond won't have been canceled due to the small amount and there just isn't one.

Aside from digging the bond out (no idea which box in garage!) is there anything else I can do? I know its only £2, so many people said don't bother but it was bought by my Nan in the hope I might get a little sum from it. Quite like to check and see :-)

Can't think of anything you can do other than have a dig around in your garage :)

Doesn't bare thinking about! If I don't find it do I just have to accept what they say? Had that bit of paper since I was one, only just appreciating it now and can't get to it lol

I don't think it is worth a great deal of effort. I have had a £1 since birth which has never won anything and, according to the MSE calculator, that is to be expected (actually 10 years is the longest it will calculate, but even multiplying it up the result is the same).
