Convert NTL broadband to wireless - How?

My neighbour is looking to convert her NTL cable broadband to wireless and has asked me for advice.
What's the simplest way to achieve this and what equipment should she buy? Is there anything peculiar about NTL I should know about that's different to setting up an ADSL wireless network?
Any help most welcome.

When buying EMPHASISE that it's for a cable connection
I recently bought this and got the £10 Google Checkout discount which, once postage was taken into account, cost about £270 -
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

as otehrs have said make sure you get a router capable for cable connections
hook the main pc up first using a wired connection then go wireless with it then add the other pc's0 -
This link to pc world is useful for showing you what you need for cable wireless internet.

Go through the wizard and it will then show you all the suitable products they have.0 -
Most of the routers sold now have a built-in ADSL modem. You need to look for one that's only a router. With cable, you can't combine the router and modem in a single unit.
You just connect the router to the cable modem using an Ethernet cable. I'm using a D-Link D-524 with and it's proved very reliable for the past couple of years. It's quite an old model now though.0 -
I've just done the very same thing for my mum who's also with NTL.
Assumptions: 1. you have a wireless capable computer (either laptop or desktop)
All you need to do is buy a wireless router (I bought a Belkin -Part # F5D7231uk4) from amazon for about £50.
If the computer uses windows XP: insert the disk and follow the instructions.
If it uses Vista - set up the computer using the manual set up instructions.
First time I've ever done anything like this and it took me about an hour start to finish.
Don't be concerned there's nothing to it and don't pay PC World to come out and install it.Keep smiling,
