There is a 5 minute benefit checker tool on this site - it will let you play around with your income, so that you can see what you may be able to get. Are you in Social housing or private rented? If private then you need to look up the LHA rate on your local council site for the 2 bed rate - I assume there is just 2 of you. You may also be able to get some help towards council tax. It may not be much and will depend on your income.0 -
the OP gets working tax credits so must be working
the child will not be entitled to JSA if under 18
I just assumed it was an adult child over 18 and finished education. If they are still under 18 then that's easy they just need to find a suitable course to do until they find a job and OP will continue to get all her benefits a bit longer.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0 -

What is your 18 year going to do now they have finished education? Has he got a job? Looking for work? Wants to go to college?
The answer is important because depending on this we can tell you how your benefits will be affected.0 -
My 18 yr old has a job on 8 hr contract which she worked at whilst at college, obviously she is trying to get full time work but this isnt easy.0
