I have just got back from Home bargains. Lots of the above baked o and xs for 69 pence on floor stacks but on the shelf there was a hand written price tag of 39 pence andthe bags looked different.so guess what one i picked up to try. WENT to the checkout ,paid looked atmy receipt yes was charged 69p. Saidto the girl filling up the floor stack "these say..." she said"yes I need to take the ticket off" i even told her they were were different looking. When i got out pulled the packet over it was out of date 15th june. Went back in asked for a supervisor the cashier looked at me like i had askedfor the moon.stopped a guyon the shop floor and said what date is it? We both went to the s helf and he started started taking them off. By this time i had seen the first lady and said its me again sorry. he told her should they be on sale?
yes.
She offered me a better date i said no thank you went to the tills asked for a supervisor and got a refund. Guess who did me that refund

Whilst I disagree with the sly intentions, the fact of the matter is that the food was probably still fully edible and has now presumably been thrown away, extra food waste.

You really shouldn't shop in home bargains if you care about dates on produce. Bargains and dates don't mix well, things are often cheap because of dates.

Also crisps take about a month before they go stale.

You know it's weird I went to B+M the other day in Hull, also had excess stock of these for 69p down to 35p and I too was overcharged but didn't kick up a fuss, just got a refund :)
