P60 - which figure for Tax Credit Declaration

Hi
wonder if anyone can advise me. I am filling in our tax credit annual declaration for year ended 5 April 2013. I forecast £27,000.

On my partners P60 which I have just received it says
"In Previous employment - 11,656"
"In this employment £8341
Total for year - 19998

Next to the "In this employment" is a box which says this figure should be used for tax return.

Does this apply for Tax Credits as well or only for Tax Return?

We dont get any working tax credit but do get Child Tax Credit as we pay for childcare.

Many thanks

A

It is the total for the year, so £19998 is what you declare
  • thanks very much for that. I did think so but just wanted to double check.

We have therefore together made a total of £29307, but I forecast £27,000 so have made an underestimate of £2307 for year end to April 13.

How much will I need to pay back?

    Kind regards

Depends on what your joint 11-12 income was. there might not be an overpayment

How many children do you have as that will also make a difference. One there will be a potential overpayment, but 2 or more there would not.

But even if there are two children there could be an overpayment surely?
