I quite like it, makes the fence stronger, we just cut ours with a hedge trimmer, and it seems to keep it in check.

My Garage is covered in it. We are scared that if we take it down it will fall down!!!!

You need a product such as 'Root Out' which is based on ammonium sulphamate. Because of the waxy nature of ivy leaves, other systemics such as glyphosate aren't as effective - crushing leaves before application will help!
I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!

I think if its growing on a house wall, even if you sever the stem, you still have to pull it off the wall as well-dont think it falls off when it dies.

If you sever the stems, the rest will die away. Eventually it'll fall off but you might want to speed up the process by pulling it down when it's dried out.

I have not found this to be the case myself.

cut the stems last summer and sprayed it; its still growing like mad. Managed to pull a load off the wall but the little feelers remain, any idea how to remove them?

    Anyone?

Feeling really frustrated as I've managed to remove stems upto 3 inch thick and now left with a wall covered in these roots.

Have a horrible feeling you have to pull it all off by hand-thats what i have found from experience.
