Booster seat required or not for my child in Italy?

Hi,
I'm going to Italy in a few weeks and need to decide whether I need a booster seat for my daughter. She's 8yrs old nearly 9 and 144cm tall. She's also over 5stone if weight has anything to do with it.
In the UK I think the height when it's no longer required is 135cm however I've seen a couple of car hire websites (Hertz being one) say that you need a car booster seat in Italy if you are below 150cm tall. Although other websites give you the option of adding a booster seat for a child aged between 3-7yrs old and nothing for children older than this.
Seems to be a bit of a grey area and I'm not sure if she needs one or not.
Does anyone know?
Thanks for your help.

It's perhaps a case of find the car hire deal you want to book and then look at the small print before booking.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

If it's your own car being driven in the EU you need to comply with the law of the land where the car is registered (when it comes to booster seats).
