Can i claim esa?

Hi, So cut a long story short i have severe psoriasis to my feet which has become infected so i cant walk more than 10 feet without having to sit back down. I have also got psoriasis on my wrists, Hands, ankles and patchs appearing on my legs.

Ive never suffered from psoriasis before and just wanted to know if i can claim esa due to not being able to walk as im due to sign on tommrow and i physically cant walk to the job centre. (even though i live 10 mins away)

What is my best option at the moment as i dont know the procedure for esa ect.

Any help would be amazing.

Have you been to the doctor? Its quite worrying that you've had such a severe attack when you've never had it before. If you've been to your GP how long do they expect it to last? Would they give you a fit note?

You can ring the jobcentre and tell them you are ill, they can make arrangements for you to sign at another date.

In principle, yes, you can claim ESA for short-term illnesses.
If the question is 'would this entitle me to ESA if it persists' - perhaps - however you would need to get a doctors note first.

(On the grounds amongst others that walking without pain is impossible, as is using a nonpowered chair, due to the condition of the hands).

I am seeing my gp today and should get a doctors note. To claim esa do they send the forms out to you or do you have to pick them up from the job centre?
