ESA & Private Pension.

Can anyone tell me what happens in the following:
I am in receipt of ESA as well as having a Private Pension. I understand that when my Pension increases my ESA is reduced.
Can you tell me if there a minimum amount of ESA you can get as at presently mine will eventually be reduced to £0 with reductions for each Pension increment.
What happens if it gets to such an insignificant figure that I just don't bother to claim it? Will this affect my old age pension?
Thanks.

as long as you have 30 of NI contributions ( either through working or through NI credits from benefits) your state pension will not be affected0

This isn't necessarily true, depending on your age you will probably have to acquire 35 years of contributions unless you are due to get your state pension in the next couple of years."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Your NI credits should continue to be made on your behalf for as long as you remain on ESA, even if no payment is actually being made. It is a similar situation to people who have had their 365 days on contributory WRAG, they are still deemed to be 'on ESA' and NI credits will continue.0
