If your employers should have deducted £300 in tax, but only deducted £250, then you need to pay the extra £50 to the tax office. The end result is that you have now paid the correct amount. HTH

You need to clarify how the under payment has arisen. Has your employer deducted tax and not passed onto HMRC, or have they not deducted enough?
If they have'nt deducted enough you need to pay the underpayment. If they have deducted and not passed the money onto HMRC you need to speak to payroll and find out what happened to the money.
Did you not recieve a P60 for that year?
Too answer your above question...if they did'nt deduct enough you still owe the money not your employer.
If the correct amount was deducted but not passed on, your employer will need to pay.0 -
