Child Benefit for 16 yr olds

I have twin DS (16 yrs old ). I have returned the forms to have the child benefit payments continued as the are staying on at school to do 5th yr .I went to the bank this morning and no child benefit payment was there when I contacted the offices I was told my file was open I can only assume that the forms had reached the offices and were being dealt with (was told file opened 31st May) was told I would have to wait between 7-9 days for payment if eligible even thoughj I have a DD (aged 9) too. Is this right and will it be sorted out quickly.
Will this also affect my Child Tax Credit payment due on Thursday.

Dunno, what have you told HMRC? Child benefit would not normally stop until the end of August (unless otherwise notified of continuing education) so not sure why your payments are affected now."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Snap, I have 15 y.o twins and a 10 yo.
We received the form about continuing education 2 weeks before our payment was due. The form was filled in and sent by return but still our payment was missed. An email enquiry got a response of wait two weeks for an answer.
Anyway the good news is our outstanding payment was made Last Monday, approx. 4 weeks after we returned the forms.
