I have been told today that I am to be made redundant and have spent ages trying to figure out if I can claim contribution jsa.
As I only work part time I can not figure out if I have paid enough national insurance.
Please could someone point me in the direction of a site that tells me how much I have to of earned in the last 2 years to Qualify.
Thank you.

You have to have earnt around £5400 in each of the relevant tax years and paid Class 1 National insurance on a weekly basis (you would have paid this if you earned around £100 a week or more. Do you have you P60us' for the tax years 10/11 and 11/12 that you can use to check?
It can be more complicated than that but if you meet the points above then you will be entitled."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Thank you very much, yes I have all my p60's and have earnt more than that so I should be fine.
Why they make the information so difficult to find is beyond me.0 -
You can find your NI contributions by applying here http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/ni/intro/check-record.htm#5 but not even that tells you how many you need in the previous two tax years to qualify!0

There are some errors on that page. It is 50 times LEL for the relevant tax years -which are always the two that end with the April 5th in the previous calandar year - from the year of claiming.- and benefit credited weeks count as 1 LEL
And on a P60 you add up the 1st 4 columns not the 1st 3 columns to see your total Earnings Factor for that year (in that particular job). Although it's possible the P60 changed format. In any event the first 4 columns are upto and including the Upper Earnings Limit (UEL) and this is the total you use..... the total of these 4 columns0
