Today I bought some cookies from Tesco, when i was eating one i realised they were stale as they were hard. The date on the packaging is 2nd June (todays date) but that is the display until date not the use by date. what should i do? would i be able to get a refund? Unfortunately i don't have the cookies anymore because i threw them away.

If you've thrown them away then all you can do is contact customer services and explain they were stale, they will probably send you a coupon or give you some clubcard points. They may ask for some details from the packaging or receipt but if you threw that away too you probably won't get anywhere as no proof. I take it these were fresh cookies from the bakery department?0

......the number of times my daughter heard that one when she was manager of an M & S Simply Food !!!!!!!
.......if there is something you don't like - take back what you have !!!
..........and the receipt - but that seems to get thrown away with the bikkies ...........0 -
It's possible they were just overcooked - if they had been stale, would they not have been soft? Stale biscuits tend to soften, cake & bread goes hard.
Even so, if they were not as they should have been, it would have been better to have taken them back or at least rung store to let them know that you would be returning them.
As someone else suggests, if you have the packaging, it still may be worth it to contact the store - someone else might have already complained & that will back-up your story.0 -
Tesco will refund items that are not right with product and receipt, or if it's Tesco branded product then you just need to bring the product to customer services for a refund.
Without a product and/or receipt they can't do anything.Comping wishlist for 2017
