attendance allowance

My husband is in the early stages of dementia, he already has other health issues for which he receives DLA (mobility). He is 70, can he claim AA? Would aprreciate advice, many thanks in advance.

If your hsband is already getting DLA he will not be entitled to AA too. AA is for people who develop care needs over the age of 65 and are not already receiving DLA. I think that he should be able to get his DLA reassessed for the care component though.

That might be true if the OP's husband got DLA Care, but as he actually gets DLA Mobility, he's perfectly able to claim AA.
