Missed out on the Kitchenaid Offer - Kenwood Patissier at Makro

I was looking through the latest Makro mail and have noticed on the very last page that they have an offer on the Kenwood Patissier which is very retro looking and has the same three attachments for mixing, whisking and kneading. It is on special offer at a price of £99, and I think you can order online if you havent got membership. I bought one of these several years ago from Amazon as although I really covetted a Kitchenaid I couldnt really justify the large difference in price especially as I have a big magimix as well and between the two there isnt much they cant do. Its been great for making cakes, cookies, meringues etc, and good looking enough to leave out on the counter. Maybe worth a shot if you know you wont want to pay extra to use any of the extra attachments for a kitchenaid.

Ooooh thanks for the heads up, its £120 including VAT and in white only, free delivery over £50... if it came in other colours I'd be pretty tempted... might still be...

I have one of these and its still going strong after 5 years plus of usage (and it gets a lot!) I cant fault it. Would still love a Kitchenaid though just because! LOL

I like the cream option there in Curry's, white would look just awful in my kitchen unfortunately. If you own a Patissier at present how do you find the handle on the bowl?? It looks awkward to grip but I haven't seen it in RL tho.

Has anyone been into Makro to see if they have different colours available??

Although I would really love a Kitchenaid, I really cannot justify (or afford) to pay that but I would be interested in one of these if you all think that these are just as good as a KA. I have a Makro card so it would be no bother to get one.

    TIA

The handle on the bowl is fine, I find the handle helpful so you can twist the bowl into place to secure it, and again to undo it. I have never had any problem with it.

Ive found the handle no problem at all, and it really helps to place the bowl into its lockable position. I have the cream one and have used it for many years with no problem. It is better if you can keep it out on your worktop as I find it substantial and fairly heavy. The only negative I can say is that I find I need to use at least 3 egg whites for it to whisk up ok, otherwise the quantity seems too small, but I believe that the bowl is actually bigger than the kitchenaid and so I have doubled up on recipes no prob
