Tax return

I've just filed my tax return on-line only to find that I owe £130 for 2012/12. I get a state pension and this is deducted from my tax allowance. HRMC issue my private pension with the adjusted tax code and my smallest pension deducts 20% at source based on a BR code.

I just don't understand how I owe this. I've had no other income and no other savings other than an ISA.

Estimated (and incorrect) age allowance in your PAYE code?

Married couples allowance was insufficently restricted..

HR tax due on your second pension but only BR deducted...

Incorrect changes to your tax code during the year....

Or a number of other things.....

Difficult to say without the detail of gross pensions, tax deducted and PAYE codes issued for the year!
