25.5.07 what small dfw thing will you do/have you done today?

Hello lovely DFWers. It's Friday :j

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:

Today I will:

- send everyone with packed lunches
- pay in yesterday's "takings" to the bank so I don't spend them!!
- go to the CAG website to try and get more info about my court case
- not increase my debt in any way
- be positive

I hope everyone has a good day xx

Hi hypno, hi all. Today, I will:
    - not increase my debt in any way.
    - send off an amazon book.

    I've already:
    - got the financial practice up, and doing well.
    - emailed my accountant asking for an address I need.

Really chuffed about going back through previous threads like this one and catching up on the stuff I hadn't done. There's no way I would have emailed my accountant today if not for that, I *hate* contact with my accountants.

Not much else as I'm off to London, tho later than usual today, so I might do a bit of Donglemouse studying, didn't do any on Wednesday.

    Have a good weekend all.

[Karmacat wails loudly]: I can never put in as an mse thing that I'm drying my washing on the line - I don't have a drier, I don't have any choice!! Can I have special dispensation please??? (feeling a bit silly today, it must be the late start plus the bank hol. Apologies!
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Hi Hypno

    Today I will :

    - stick to my shopping list
    - only drink the alcohol that's in the fridge when friend's come round tonight and not offer to buy any!

I went through my cupboards last night and listed everything in there, DH made a menu plan and we made a list of little extras we need - hope to spend a lot less than last week.

I have bought my packed lunch in again, Jacket Potato, Tuna Mayo, Salad, Yoghurt and home maked cupcake (yum yum) and therefore 0p from my purse so far - :j

    Today I have:

    * Had a NSD
    * Eaten the HM lunch that BF made for me last night even though I didn't have to go in to work today....saved having to buy anything or open anything that I might want to use in a 'proper' meal on another day.
    * Got a free curry voucher (the 'Twice the Spice' thing I was rambling on about recently...from iPoints).
    * Got Tesco clubcard money off voucher & extra points vouchers - all useful!
    * Repaired a t-shirt with a rip in the side. Pre MSE days that would have probably gone into a charity bag. Shocking really.
    * Did two lots of economy washing. Weather's a bit !!!!!! though so having to dry on radiators...no choice.
    * Watched an old B & W dvd I have been meaning to watch for months...I can now list it on Amazon!
    * Not increased my debt!! Yay!
Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
    Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly
