Help needed - bailiff threatened

I'm being threatened with a court appointed bailiff if i don't pay £93 by friday. I can pay about £60, half today and half on friday, but I won't have the rest of the money til thursday of next week, and I'm desperate not to borrow any more money. I won't go into how this came about but obviously i need to get it sorted. I'm going to phone them and explain what I can and can't pay, but can anyone tell me, if i make a partial payment will they be willing to wait a few days for the rest?
Thanks
Thanks

Hi there
Whats the matter about? Is it council tax?
Are you *generally* in a bit of a state with your finances, or is this just something you have overlooked.
I would call the bailiffs and say Ok, I have X now and X on friday, will you accept it?
I tihnk the worst thing about bailiffs is people get the fear about calling them, but there - in my experience- is no need, once you start negotiating with them they are usually fine. its the hiding away that really doenst help .
Good luck

Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
It really depends on what it is for on how you negociate, if it is a court fine then that is a difficult matter. I am sorry to be rude but I would need more imfo to help you properly. PM me if you like
Try not to panic

Well, I phoned them and an admin person in the office told me that the bailiff wasn't there, but my suggested payment offer would be fine, and that he would pass the message on to the bailiff. You were right, they were really nice, and helpful, in that respect.
So off i went, thinking it was sorted, only to get a phone call at work the next day (yesterday), from my mum (who i live with) asking what the hell a bailiff is doing showing up at our house asking for money?
He turned up the day before the deadline for payment, and basically told my mum exactly why he was there. My poor mum's ill anyway (hence why i'm living there) and i didn't want her burdened with my problems. so do I have any right to confidentiality? And do I have any grounds for making a complaint?current debt as at 10/01/11- £12500 -
YUP - he has broken the Data Protection Act - will toddle off and get the info for you.

thank you! i think it would be best if i make the payment and then complain, but i didn't think i was wrong about the confidentiality issue!current debt as at 10/01/11- £12500

Yup pay and then complain, to the Bailiff Manager at the court as it is a court bailiff, a bailiff should never discuss any matter other than with the person in question.
