in Credit cards
I have a few grand dept in my credit card and I used this card to use on gambling web sites. My balance in my gambling account will cover my dept on mycredit card and will leave me with a few hundred extra . How can I get my extra cash from my credit card? Can I just cancel my credit card with full payment and will they transfer the remaining balance into my current account? Thank you in advance for any replies

Closing a card is the last resort. They may agree just to send you a cheque without closing. Also, many bookies offer alternative ways of withdrawals, especially for CC deposits.
And, BTW, 'dept' is short for 'department'.0 -

Just be aware - I had a small amount of credit on my credit card (<£1, interest applied after I had paid it off), and I transfered it across to my current account. My CC provider charged me a "cash advance fee" and I had to call them up and complain loudly to get them to refund it.Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

Just spend using the credit card wherever possible when buying anything at all. A couple hundred shouldn't take long to get rid of just by normal spending patterns. The cash will then accumulate in your normal current account and you can use that for cash if you need to spend cash in a shop that does not take card.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

the betting site will only allow me to withdraw to the cc which I deposited with.. also why is is not good to just cancel the cc once the money has gone in to that account? it will pay the balance off and leave me in credit0

As above, why not take your winnings back onto the card, don't give it back to the bookie, and draw down the rest for regular grocery shopping, keeping your current account healty

Firstly, it's not always the case, especially for Mastercard. Secondly, if it really is the case, you have to withdraw to the card only the amount you deposited. The rest can be withdrawn by other means.midnightexplorer wrote: »the betting site will only allow me to withdraw to the cc which I deposited with..
It is good if you really don't need the card anymore.also why is is not good to just cancel the cc once the money has gone in to that account? it will pay the balance off and leave me in credit0 -
Credit card issued by different banks may have different rules and regulation. If you want to transfer your amount from one saving account to another then you can do it online provided you have a valid password to transfer it. If it won't work then you have to try by appearing in person before your bank employees to transfer payment into your saving account.
You can get extra amount through credit card if anybody credited your saving account belonging to it, otherwise not.0 -
