Minoan Air - any feedback?

I am thinking of giving the Minoan Air route between Edinburgh and Oxford a try as an alternative to Bristol or Birmingham. Has anyone on here flown with them and got anything good or bad to say?

Neither did I until I spotted it as a destination on the Edinburgh airport website. Hilariously it's branded itself as London-Oxford :A. However, I rather like small airports as there's nowhere near as much faffing around as there is at big ones.

I'm flying with Minoan from there to Edinburgh at the beginning of June. I'll let you know how it goes! Was a bit worried about booking flights with a Greek registered company given the country's plight at the moment, but some of the flights were fully booked which gave me some comfort. They fly to Dublin as well.

Not sure any of their flights are fully booked, more likely they are cancelled due to lack of demand. General view is they may survive to July but who knows? Brighton City Airways which started less than three months ago gave up last week.... the prospects of very small airlines in the UK are not good.
  • Brighton City haven't given up, they're just waiting for the French to get their customs sorted out, Their sales have actually been quite good.

Just got back from my trip to Edinburgh with Minoan. I'd highly recommend them. The set up at Oxford is small but means there's none of the hassles you normally get at the larger airports. Easy check-in, friendly security staff, no crowds. Free snacks and drinks on the plane, served by a very welcoming crew. Plane was half full both ways. I'd definitely use them again so I hope they do well.

Minoan announced the closure of their entire Oxford operation yesterday, flying stops in 2 weeks time. Far be it from me to say 'I told you so' but this had disaster written all over it. I suspect Oxford Airport will have lost a lot of money on this fantasy

Agree with you Alan. An unknown Greek airline operating routes from an unknown UK regional airport (calling itself London when its anything but!), and with very modest advertising.

Watched a programme on TV recently that stated easyJet spent over £1million pound in a week in their early days on publicity...
  • MINOAN AIR - are they still in existence?
Friends due to fly oxford -edinburgh 20/8 have had an e-mail cancelling their flight - replies to this go unanswered
Friends who were booked to fly oxford -edinburgh on 15/7 had to take train instead.
    Draw your own conclusions....

Shame - budget flights to Greece aren't that common...
