10 stone weight loss

Apologies for posting this - it's not debt related - but I've had so many PM's about it it's getting ridiculous! I figured it would be much easier all round to just post about it here and then I can direct future enquiries to search for the post on the board and find all the answers here.

I've lost 10 stone in two chunks of 5 stone by following a programme called Lighterlife. You can find their site here. http://www.lighterlife.com

They're a company who work from the basis that for some people food is an addiction, just as alcohol or drugs can be. Therefore, if you're trying to break an addiction to alcohol, you don't have 3 G&T's a day! Likewise, if you're trying to break an addiction to food, you don't have 3 meals a day. On this programme you have 4 foodpacks which are carefully balanced to provide all the essential nutrients you need to be healthy, but only have approx 600 calories in them. This means that you body goes into a process called Ketosis which means it burns your fat stores for energy, hence you lose weight.

Alongside this, and this is the key to it, you attend a 2 hour group once a week for Cognnitive Behavioural Therapy. This is the process of examining the way you think about food and use food inappropriately (ie. comfort eating, eating through boredom etc), in order to change the way you behave around food. It's this that will help you simply avoid simply putting the weight back on again.

It's costs about £65 a week - which is quite pricey - but you have to factor in that you won't be spending any money on food and you're also getting 2 hours of group therapy a week.

Apologies if this comes across as a sales pitch :o - it genuinely isn't. I'm just trying to answer the questions I've had.

i have to say i'm against this posting because whilst you might not mean it its just a sales pitch and if anyone came on with paypal scams etc then it would automatically get the picture of a spam.

I however do agree that food is just as addictive as drugs, alcohol and gambling and i myself have lost 5 stone but i did weightwatchers and now just maintain on eating 3 meals a day.

well done on the loss but this isn't the right place for it

  • I'm more than happy for it to be removed if the general consensus is that it shouldn't be here. I have no wish to offend anyone.

I was just trying to find an easy way to answer the queries I've had.

Well done on the weight loss cate, I don't think it matters how you've done it, the fact is you have. I don't see any difference posting about lighter life/weightwatchers or going to the gym.

    Hi Toto
I don't really care if links are allowed in signatures - the one you have put in yours needs to be there and everywhere to be honest. I have already texted the number to donate £1. Awareness is so important so thank you.

Are you in anyway associated with the company other than being a customer?
