Calories in Red Skinned Mashed Potato?

I was just wondering how many calories are in this? I use about 3 potato's for a serving.

    same as any other skin colour.

    As the approx. amount. Depends on how much they weigh.

    if they are mashed with ingredient high in saturated fat. Then Yes.

    Ie butter.

    However there are articles out there saying the traditional info is out of date on max saturated intake etc.

    Cals in potatoes are quite high for the size, sweet potatoes are less and Butternut squash even less. I tend to eat more squash than potatoes which can be mashed, roasted (skin on as it goes quite soft when roasted), used in soups, stews risottos bread etc.

    Roughly 150kcal in a baked potato sized red potato. Then it just depends what you mash it with, milk and butter will are of course quite calorific. You can track your calories quite well using myfitnesspal.com if this is something your trying to do? I've found it to be be adequately accurately.

    If it helps Roxy07 I use this site quite a bit when calculating for Weight Watchers http://calorie-data.com/ (you can also use http://www.calculatorcat.com/free_calculators/weight_watchers_calculator.phtml along with the calorie site to work out WW recipes & points for anyone on the WW programme).

    I went on a modified Atkins last Sunday. No potatoes, no bread, no buns, no cake, no pasta, no pizza, no noodles, no fruit and therefore very low carb. Lost a good 2 kgs in a week and do not feel hungry.

    Edit:- I have actually been on low carb for a year and have lost over 4st (30kgs).
