I was just wondering how many calories are in this? I use about 3 potato's for a serving.

Do they really have 50% saturated fat of your daily allowance? that's alot.. :shocked:0 -
if they are mashed with ingredient high in saturated fat. Then Yes.
Ie butter.
However there are articles out there saying the traditional info is out of date on max saturated intake etc.0 -

Cals in potatoes are quite high for the size, sweet potatoes are less and Butternut squash even less. I tend to eat more squash than potatoes which can be mashed, roasted (skin on as it goes quite soft when roasted), used in soups, stews risottos bread etc.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Roughly 150kcal in a baked potato sized red potato. Then it just depends what you mash it with, milk and butter will are of course quite calorific. I went on a modified Atkins last Sunday. No potatoes, no bread, no buns, no cake, no pasta, no pizza, no noodles, no fruit and therefore very low carb. Lost a good 2 kgs in a week and do not feel hungry.
Edit:- I have actually been on low carb for a year and have lost over 4st (30kgs).The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.
