Parking Eye

I have just got a parking fine from Parking Eye. I am in Scotland and I was parked over 4 hours. I dont have any receipts as I was just looking for clothes and house things. Help what do I do?

You haven't got a fine. What you have received is an invoice which you can ignore. Please some other threads on here that deal with private parking tickets.

Dont panic. Me and mrs thehibby have a fine collection of their threatograms. We have never paid a penny and never will. Their invoices are 100% penalty charges so 100% unenforcable.

Note that I said fine collection, not a collection of fines, because they are not fines.

You must be in a different part of Scotland than me :-)

+1 for ignore since POFA 2012 does not apply to Scotland.

Yup, POFA does not apply in Scotland or Northern Ireland, so your best option is to strictly ignore all communications from PE and their fake debt collectors.

The less contact you have, the sooner PE will be off your back and last time I had bother from them, they didn't even complete the usual silly letter chain. Which can be inspected in the appropriate thread here, so you know what to expect. :)

Agreed - except to add that the OP mustn't ignore real Court papers in the unlikely event of PE selecting a Scottish case to have a punt at - even though they'd need know who was driving for a start (the least of their problems with a useless fake PCN like this).

The OP could complain to the Retail Park though, in writing but without stating who was driving. It would need to be a carefully worded complaint about the general harassment of the registered keeper, when 'the driver' was a legitimate customer of the shops and how dare they allow this scammer on site?' sort of thing.

Would need to be written in the third person 'the driver did this/that' and written simply in indignation about the registered keeper getting such threatograms, involving the Retail Park's name and ruining their reputation as an otherwise popular shopping centre. Say you are minded to put it in the local paper and have already told your friends on facebook about these threats; everyone will be put off visiting if this is their idea of customer service... etc.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
