have remortgaged over the last 10 years with the help of an advisor to get better rates and was very luck 5 years ago to get a lifetime tracker mortgage of BofE base rate + 0.17%.

have been ploughing everything I can into paying off the mortgage (approx £1900 per month) and enjoying watching the balance drop each month.

Have an old Endowment which matures in 2 years time to the value of £35k approximately, so will pay that straight off the mortgage as well.

my hope is that I will be mortgage free in about 5 years time at the age of 51. 10 years ahead of schedule.
