Tuesday 23 April - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning peeps
Bright and early post from me this morning. Ready for work early and raring to go! Well not really but I've got so much to do today I have to at least pretend...
- Checked bank (CB gone in, transfered "borrowed" £30 back to budget account)
- BLD from stores, I will lose this 1/2 stone!
- Left purse at home so no spending
- Might take DD to park after afterschool club, I denied her of this on Sunday when I felt unwell
- Check conveyancing progress online (must have moved on, surely?!)
- Quiet night in tonight and early night due to late one last night and not feeling too hot about it!
- Sparkle!
JxNothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -
Morning everyone. Just a quick post as I'm picking up a work colleague today so can't be late!
My list so far:- Breakfast from stores
- Fed and watered the chickens
- Checked banking :eek::eek:
- Checked for surveys
- Made myself a packed lunch
- Put dinner in the slow cooker
- Emailed letting agent asking for a refund of admin fee as I'm not going ahead with the property
- Keep an eye on surveys during the day
- Turn one of the storage heaters off later - will just leave one on for another couple of days to see what the weather is planning to do
- Drink free coffee/water at work
- Possibly get into sewing room this evening, but the Great British Sewing Bee final is on tonight
- Have an NSD
Stitchy xMaking magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
On train this morning.
The things I used to think we're me being really good are just becoming normal now - breakfast at home and making lunch just feeling odd that I ever spent money on them before when plenty in the house.
Will avoid buying wifi for the iPad and just use the data connection.
Will avoid buying coffee from the trolley.
Have my lunch etc so no temptation to spend.
Realised when I checked for my tickets that I have £35 in my wallet. It's been sat there for over a week now without me thinking about it.
I used to go through that on a normal day without blinking. This is the final day of my 9-in-a-row NSD challenge but the funny thing is I have no burning desire to spend money now.
Have about £200 more than I normally would in my current account at this stage of the month and I'm not rushing out to buy shiny junk I don't need. Shocking.Debt free, moved, got new stuff for the new flat - got everything I wanted and need - now just saving.0 -

Morning all,
It's a bit chilly again! Who is hogging the sunshine?
Well after having poorly child off yesterday (still off today but recovering well) and my serious lack of sleep , yesterday was a bit of a write off. However, that did mean it was a LSD (only bread and milk). It meant few jobs got done though which I need to get done today.
Small things:
More washing outside - it's neverending!
Already been to @ldi
Ironing
Make up meals for rest of week
Finish a job application I came across yesterday. Wasn't looking but it's right up my street, so going to apply and see what happens.
Start a spreadsheet (yikes, I'm rubbish with excel!)
Flylady
Already checked bank accs :eek::eek:
Read paper online
Heating remains off, but struggling as it's turned cold again.
Ok, lots to do, have a great day everyone
