Making settlement offers.

I want to clear some old debt and have read that some companies may accept a partial payment as full and final settlement.
How do I go about this and what do I offer?
The debts are all with Lowell portfolio and are all from 2009. The amounts are £349, £213 and £48.
No payment have been made on them since Lowell took them over in 2009 and they are not contacting me regarding them.
Do I just write to them?

If you have some money to make offers, put it in a bank account earning interest and leave it there until one or all of these companies contact you. Let sleeping dogs lie. If 6 years pass (from date of last payment/contact) without you making a payment or admitting the debt belong to you they would turn statute barred - meaning unenforceable in a court of law (so you would not have to pay them at all).
If at any point you receive correspondance from your creditors you can make them an offer of settlement then. But for the moment, just sit tight!0 -
Just make sure they have your current address, as if not, they can get a CCJ at your previous address and that stays on your credit file for 6 years from date of granting it. You will never know until it appears on your credit file.:beer:0
