Advice about pay-day loans

Ok so basically I have been completely irresponsible and fallen into the payday loan trap, mainly due to my hours being cut at work. I currently owe Wonga £1300 and would like to set up a payment plan with them. The problem is, my next payday is on the 10th May and I simply cannot risk Wonga attempting to take money out of my account on that day as I have more important bills to pay for. So should I extend my loan to 7th June and make a partial payment of about £200, meaning that they wont attempt to take any money out of my account on payday, and then negotiate a payment plan after 10th May? Or, nogotiate a payment plan now and run the risk of them attempting to take money out of my account on the 10th May? Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Certainly ring them and set up a payment plan. With regard to your wages, can you setup a basic bank account elsewhere with another bank and have your wages transferred into that account instead? If your not paid until the 10th May, you should have time to set this up :)

But ring Wonga monday and sort out a payment plan with them :)
  • i would set up another bank account for your wages to go in if i were you. i have no experience with PDLs but i've heard on here despite payment plans being set up they do sometimes continue to try and take money here and there.

    Hope you get it sorted!
An opinion is just that..... An opinion
  • i have succesfully set up a payment plan with Wonga they are nothing but helpful and a pleasure to deal with. explain your situation in full and they will be more than happy to help as they did with me

However CFO lending on the other hand....

I took out a payday loan with CFO lending a while back for £500 pounds.
With interest this comes to £680 pounds.
I have rolled over the loan 2 times and on each occasion i have paid the 180 interest.
I have now offered to clear the balance and another 1 months interest in the following plan
    April 28th - £180.00
    May 28th - £250.00
    June 28th - £250.00

do you know if i have a case for a conmplaint or whether they are breaking any rules as they are unwilling to help
