Saturday & Sunday 20th/21st April - What small DFW things will you do this weekend??!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
OMG you guys where are our early birds these days???!
Hurrah to Saturday :j although I have been off all week and am starting to have cabin fever! Really bummed as I think its likely I'm not going to get paid for the time off sick
so glad to leave that place
Josie excellent news re your massive payment yesterday - hurrah!
Ziggy I had a dream that we lived in the same town!
My things for the day:
* plant some seeds
* all meals from stores
* do a load of washing & hang up o/s
* get oh to put up washing line
* get chicken out of freezer for tomorrow
* possibly go to a National Trust site with voucher - although they miles away! (Stitchy sorry I didn't reply to you how rude!
If you read Martin's newsletter there is a link about free entry to NT this weekend x)
* going to a friend's surprise birthday bsah tonight. I will be drinking soft drinks and leaving when I start to feel tired
* make hm pizzas tonight using up veg
* bake a cake while the oven is on
* the The Sun for the holiday voucher
That's it for today. Hope its a happy one for you all x

Morning peeps!
Thanks for the hurrah DNMS, it was my PPI cheque I recieved from Canada Square Operations - it was for £2239 so I treated myself to the £39 and whacked the rest off the only card charging me interest. I did sit looking at it in my bank account before I did the payment......dreaming..... :rotfl:
Anyways, this has fueled me on to come back after a week away...that and the fact I have put on 1/2 a stone through buying and eating junk food. Back on the wagon!!!
- Checked banking
- OH took my car into to work to service
- DM dropping hers off to him and picking mine up for me, then coming over for a cuppa
- Write small Mr T's list, don't really need much
- Act on said list a bit later
- Stock up on Mr T's chicken on offer, OH is on high protein diet and loves his chicken!
- Used mini sandwich cake tin DM gave me, brand new in box!
- Cleaned the house inside out before mother gets here
- Home made pizza for dinner, just need chicken which I will be buying anyway
- Shower and self-pamper tonight
- Might treat myself to some sunnies, my annual purchase as mine always go missing, never spend more than £15 on N3xt ones
JxNothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -
Afternoon all!
Its been a bonkers week at work - exam results so all hell breaks loose for a couple of days.
But I need to think about money so here I am again!:)
Little things for today...- have taken the dog for his haircut, £28 but budgeted for
- done the weekly shop - forgot the list and ended up going a bit free and easy with the spending, I forgot a £1 for the trolley so had to have a basket so it could have been a whole lot worse:o
- walked dog in the park and will take him for a long walk later to make the most of the sunshine
- staying in tonight and watching a movie
- will use gym pass to make the most of the groupon voucher
- checked the bank and looked at budget for the rest of the pay month - the washing machine has died so a bit of jiggery pokery is in order
- will clean the house
- all food from stores
- posted some ebay parcels and it cost less than I had budgeted for
- might list a few more things on ebay later
- will do my own nails this evening and have a sunbed to use up the course
- check postcode lottery (thanks ally)
- might have a potter in the garden and do a bit of a tidy up (hate gardening)

Hi everyone,
Thread seems so quiet today! Hope everyone is out enjoying the sunshine.
Thanks for starting us off DNMS. Why won't they pay you? You were in hospital so it seems very unfair of them not to.

- Charging phone via pc
- Heating off
- Check online banking

- Check FB to see if anyone wants to buy the guitars we're selling
- See if I can claim a voucher from valued opinions yet, need 2 surveys to clear
- Go to second job tonight - driving & not drinking as I spent too much last night, so annoyed with myself! But I am doing an extra 2 hours today so that'll earn me an extra £10 after tax at least...

Good morning everyone. It's bright and sunny here again today and I want to spend it in the garden or allotment, but I know I ought to be in the sewing room working on a customer's order
Not much DFW stuff done yesterday as I had to buy a couple of bits to see us through the weekend, so hopefully today will be better.
So far:- WM run overnight on Economy 7
- HM crumpets for breakfast - must try Paul Hollywood's recipe and compare with my usual one
- Fed and watered the chickens
- Put gammon in SC for dinner
- Made jelly with tinned fruit from stores (might just be a couple of months OOD;))
- Checked banking
- Checked for surveys
- Check my seeds to see what can be planted
- Update accounts with yesterday's spends
- Do half a day in the sewing room
- Take advantage of the beautiful weather and do *something* in the garden
- Bake scones whilst the oven is on for the roast potatoes
- Convince DH he wants to make me some reflector boxes to put the seed trays in. They go on the windowsills and the reflectors stop the seedlings bending towards the light and getting 'leggy'
Okay, that ought to be enough for today. Catch up later.

Hi everyone,
Money-saving activity today, such as it is:
*Froze leftovers of 4 different curries (from a meal I cooked for friends last night) in take-away containers, so that'll do us a good 'fake-away' next month when I'm planning to have a tight month.
*We rennovated a corner of our garden....ok, we did have to buy 2 bags of bark chips, but everything else was a no-spend option.....we re-used the black plastic, edged the area with some stone slabs that we found chucked under our hedge when we moved in & planted the new bed with things I'd divided up to make free plants. Filled in all the gaps with some amazing bargain primulas our friends found being sold off in B&Q...6 for 10p!!!!! Yes, really, 10p!
*Did a few surveys.
*Ate leftover bread rolls I made for last night for lunch, with other assorted leftovers.
*Washing machine loaded ready to put on timer for overnight wash on Economy 7.
*Bread maker put on, rather than popping out to buy bread.
Still to do:
*A competition
*Read electricity & gas meters & add to my records. Hopefully useage will have dropped over this last week.
*Have a look at the latest Avon book & see if anything is on a too good to miss special offer.
Think that's it for me......Mr foxgloves is cooking tonight, so it's chill-out time for me.
Hope everyone's seen at least a bit of sunshine this weekend.
