Hello lovely DFWers!!
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:
Today I will:
(most of these are the same as yesterday as the bank was shut when I went, the parcel didn't arrive to my ebay buyer, and I have another birthday today that needs a present!!)
- not be increasing my debt in any way
- send everyone off to school/work with packed lunches
- give a birthday present from the "present cupboard" rather than going out and buying something.
- go to the bank
- transfer money from paypal once my ebay buyer acknowledges safe receipt of a parcel
- doing a mystery shop and a couple of hours invigilating at school
Have a good day everyone x

Good morning all, still doing very little to reduce my debt (still wading through treacle as Lookin Ahead so nicely puts it). Today I am going to/have
- checked online banking
- packed lunch for all
- piggy comps and clicks
- prepare shopping list for weekly shop tomorrow
That's all for me, hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Morning.
I will tkae lunch with me to work and attempt another NSD. This would result in me spending £5.50 in non essentials or non budgeted goods and staying within my £10 a week budget.
Is the Moozie Weekly challenge still happening? I havent seen her around for a while. of course it just maybe I havent been on as much as normalOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 297 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0 -
I love all you guys, but I sure do miss Moozie and her weekly challenges!
Today I have / will:
* Sent OH out to work with big packed lunch (as he's driving down South today)
* Ring BT and negotiate a better deal / cancel the £4 evening calls option / get a wireless hub

Hi all. Not much I can do today, out of the house for 12 hours for work.
- I'm popping into the supermarket near where I'll be instead of having a supermarket delivery this morning, saving spending £6 on the Tesco delivery charge (that will delay my delivery till the day thats the cheapest delivery charge).
- doing a few of my click throughs
- researched going to London tomorrow to a free exhibition - not going to do it, saving £13 on the train fare alone.
- taking a packed meal with me for today.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Big ones:
- As my car renewal was due and I've saved myself £31 a month (more towards paying off debt big smiles there!)
- Posted a cheque to pay off my first Store card. Another £30 toward debt! Jumping for joy at my desk!!
Small ones:
- Brought a packed lunch to work
- Have parcels to post from Amazon sales
- Trying to have a small spend day.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -

No rain here either, so second load now blowing round in the breeze! Have cancelled previous mobile contract, made a batch of rolls for next week's lunches and the BM will be on again for a loaf soon. Have also checked online banking as don't want any surprises there! Need to plan next week's meals and write out shopping list for tomorrow - fatal if I forget that one as will always come back with stuff I don't need.
Also need to check payment date for new lower BT card and put it on the calendar.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
morning one and all.
Today i will be calling BT and telling them they can forget taking £51 a month, £25 is quite sufficient!
Chasing up halifax re the request for statements to reclaim all those yukky bank charges,:p
Doing quidco, rpoints etc click throughs
transferring £5 more into each savings account
and going to asda for petrol instead of the one up the road, 4p per litre cheaper:T
