I've had an A&L account for years.
I don't find it too much of a hassle, but I must admit I usually post any cheques I receive in one envelope.
It does cost the price of a stamp but it gets there quite quick and I've a post box ouside my work.0 -

When you are next on internet banking request some deposit envelopes. You then just pop the deposit slip and chq in one of these pre-addressed envelopes and hand it to Post office cashier and she will give you a receipt for a chq deposit.0 -

My old post office told me it is safer to hand the envelope into them, than to put it in post box, as it then goes direct to A&L with all the PO's banking stuff. Also you don't need to put a stamp on it if you hand it over the counter.0 -

Yes, cheque or cheques, and a paying slip. If you pay in cheques a lot, it might be an idea to order a separate paying in book (again, via the internet banking). The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

If you can easily get a an A&L branch, you can pay cheques in using the cash machine. Just need your account card and the cheque(s). The machine gives you an envelope.

Yes if you are paying via the post office or the post.
From the A&L website
At Post Office® branches
To pay in a cheque just fill in a deposit slip, write your account number on the back of the cheque and hand it over, sealed in a deposit envelope.
By Post
If posting your cheques, please make sure you write your 9 digit account number on the back of the cheque and send it to the Personal Customer Service Centre, Alliance & Leicester, Bootle, GIR 0AA.0
