T-mobile PAC code

Hello looking for some advice...
I am on T-mobile 24 month contract, and the term ended last month. I am assuming that I'm on a 30 day rolling contract now. I decided to leave T-mobile. I asked to leave and they said that was fine, 30 day notice and it would end on the 16th of May. Which was great.
I then asked if I could get my PAC code for my next network (giffgaff). She said that was a different process and that she would cancel the cancellation request and do a PAC code request. She then explained that T-mobile would send me the PAC code, but that after I had used the code there would be a charge for the 30 days left on the contract. I was a bit confused and asked if I was being charged for the PAC code, she said that they were not charging me but there is a 30 day notice period. I asked if I couldn't just cancel the contract now and on May 16th get a PAC code (because I don't want to pay for a month of contract I'm not using), she said this was not possible. Can someone confirm this?
The PAC code lasts 28 days, so I asked if I use PAC code on the 28th day, i.e. May 14th would the contract then end on the 16th, i.e. I'm only paying for 2 days of non use, she said yes that would work. However, I have requested a PAC code not requested cancellation of the contract (she removed that request) so I can see a situation where they say you left on the 14th of May with the PAC code, we will charge you 30 days notice. Can anyone explain?
Regards,
Andy

T-mobile are notorious for their attempts to rob leaving customers. If challenged, they usually refund the incorrectly taken charges.brownie3003 wrote: »Hello looking for some advice...

Direct them to their T&C that say only about the 30-day notice and nothing about PAC and charges after it is used.
They have to give you the PAC and if you port the number out before the 16th of May they don't have to charge you beyond this date. Full stop.
