When you run a business you rely on goodwill and loyalty, people do work harder than you pay them for.
Soon as you start the proverbial taking of the pizz, you find your business is now ruining to what is known as YPFWYG.
You pay for what you get.
It does not take much to pee of those that work for you and work loyal and hard.
I quite agree but letting work drag past the time it should be done isn't doing your job and as such capability can be questioned and acted on.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

At the end of the day its really not that big of a deal is it, why can't you just accept its there?
And yes they lied, yes they should have had more guts to tell you its there for other reasons but they didn't....never made a mistake at work?
Despite the fact you know you were wrong and rewrote your post, you still felt the need to include a (more subtle) dig at me though I have done absolutely no wrong other than be trusting of my employer. It was this subtle dig you still felt the need to include despite you being proven wrong already that ive taken offence to. Like you're just trying to drag my thread down in any way you can come up with.
I suggest you refrain from posting on my threads, your input is not welcome here. You obviously place no value on your privacy. I however, and most other people do.
Now I know they are watching every trip the van makes I know how to handle it. Unfortunately I don't want to go around blabbing behind their backs to the other employees telling them they are being monitored so closely as that is not my place. And I would still like official confirmation of it to file alongside the confirmation that they wouldn't be doing it that I already have saved.
Spacey makes good points, if a little bit excessive. Jobs will still be done as they are done, but ill start making a point about leaving site for lunch every day instead of working through it like I normally do. They cannot discipline anybody for that. I completely agree with his points of relying on loyalty - if they show no basic trust or respect for how hard i work then why should I bother?0 -

If you have taken offence I apologise but me personally if I knew there was a tracker on my van I would have been dam careful of everything I did was by the book.
And I shall do as you request and not reply unless someone insults me.
I wish you well with your employer and maybe you could talk to them about your feeling on the matter and point out the extra you do for the company and that you feel this is a kick in the teeth.

Just hold your times, do not ever drive above the speed limit, that is next one for the on the carpet and where you work through lunch, dont, hold your time, take correct breaks and travel back to base at finishing time if this is an option.
They want to play it by the book, then do it by the book.
Dont forget, commercial Vans have different speed limits on some roads to cars, adjust travelling time accordingly.Be happy...;)0 -
A friend of mine told me about the new system they introduced at his company.
He is a mobile engineer.
His van is fitted with a sat tracker and he also has a laptop on which he handles his workload.
The system knows when his shift starts. At the exact moment he starts,he is served up with his first job. The system has worked out how long his journey will take. It then adds on a time for how long the job will take. There are standard times for each type of job.
So before he sets off, he has on his screen the scheduled start time and the job finish time.
As soon as he has finished a job,a new one arrives.
When he wants lunch,he requests it and the system allocates it when it sees fit (30 mins)
Towards the end of the day, it isnt unknown for the system to bung him a job which forces him into overtime.
The system also has alarms for speeding etc.
Hows that for monitoring?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Don't worry about it, it's only the same as a tacho, which are fitted to every truck in the land.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0
