How to deal with Fredrickson International?

Hiya,
I'm hoping someone who has dealt with Fredrickson International can please advise how best to deal with them.
I have received a letter from them stating they have been instructed by Capital One who have passed on the outstanding balance to them to collect (I was aware that Capital One had done this as when I last called them, they had advised me they had passed the account on to the above company the day before - even though I had previously made a token payment on a previous call a few weeks prior!)
so yes I do owe the debt and aware of this but from what I've looked up Fredrickson's seem a bit of a nightmare to deal with and tbh they have sent me a text message as trying to call me and leaving a voicemail every day for the past week - which is getting hard to ignore now!!
I'm aware it's best to deal with them in writing but I'm not sure how best to go about it, do I need to ask them for proof of the debt as I have seen mentioned in a few other posts? Also it's not a huge debt but I simply can't afford to pay it off - so how do I go about offering a payment, do i just need to say X amount is all I can afford and send that to them/
I really don't want to deal with them on the phone as I don't want them pushing me into something and I have a funny feeling they won't give a care in the world about my current circumstances as they just want to collect the money!
Any help and advise would be hugely appreciated as want to get a letter sent to them, just not sure of what kind!
Thank you

I on Sunday registered with them on their online service with the ref they gave me on txts so i can start to pay my orange mobile account off. It said that you can arrange payment installments online so I wanted to play with the figures and look at what they were wanting to accept per month to see if it would be compatible with what I could afford. I budgeted around £50 per month and they were willing to accept £7 per week online. I would assume they would be more flexible on the phone or in writing with income/expenditure breakdown. Just wanted to know sort of as a bargaining tool.Been there, done that and Ebay'd the t shirt. :beer:0

Write to them/email them explaining how much you can pay a month. Tell them you deal with financial matters only in writing and will not discuss them face to face or on the phone.
If you post a letter make sure you send it recorded delivery. What will your verse be?

Brilliant - thank you very much for your replies and help. I will get a letter sent to them recorded tomorrow and go down the offering them a payment route. I didn't realised you could arrange one online as tbh I haven't even been onto their website as thought it maybe best to write to them first.0
