Get extra points for groceries at Tesco

I know a cool way to earn points at Tesco. At the self check out counter, before you pay, enter that you used "3" bags. Any more flags the checkout assistant to check the bags. But I found out that 3 bags or less won't flag the checkout assistant to check the bags you are using. I tend to add "3" bags each time I check out, even if I use their bags. 3 bags = 3 points = £0.03.

In Wales we don't get free carrier bags and we don't get the xtra points for using our own bags. So, it's pay for a bag, or use your own but no xtra points as an incentive to use or re-use your own bag.0

I'm guessing if you don't use three bags and they catch you, it could be classed as stealing.
If you honestly use three bags, then fair enough.0 -
Well technically I sometimes use my own bags. But on some objects like fishes, I don't like to stink my own backpack so I use their bags to place the fish in before putting in my pack.
And 3 bags is the most that I've tried before it gets flagged to be checked."Character is a journey, not a destination"--Bill Clinton

I always do this, but I always bring my own bag/s and tend to save more then 3 bags. I find it irritating that they limit it to 3 bags and started doing this a few years ago. If however I shop at a till, I only ever get 1 bag recognised- even if I bring more of my own let alone save many more then their bags!0

I don't use self service checkouts, hate them, but I have noticed that the till ladies now only enter the exact amount of own bags you are using. They used to double it before, must be some kind of economy drive they have.
