Hi all,
I've had a debt since 2007 with Nat West. Total debt was about £28,000 which included a Credit Card, Overdraft & unsecured Loan. I have been paying monthly since then, & now my only debt is the un secured loan & the outstanding balance is about £15,000. I have increased my monthly payments at each 6 month review, & my monthly payments have just been increased to £300 pm. I have given them an Income Expense calculation at every review. I have asked for a statement for the last 12 months payments as the figure they have given me in their last correspondence did not match my own calculations, (it was more). I keep a spread sheet of what i have been paying every month. The outstanding amount should not be accruing any interest. They are now asking for a full settlement & they tell me that for them to send me the statement, they need a signed written authority, & also they want me to fill out their own income expense form & supply proof of income and copies of payslips, bills & bank statements before they will send me the statements.
I have never missed a single payment since the monthly payment plan was put in place, & have increased my payments at every review based on the income/expense figures i have produced.
Are they just trying their luck or do i have to produce these documents to them?

probably trying their luck. Only a court can force you to fill out I&E. you may want to, but you don't have to.
Do the bank have a copy of your signature recently? i.e. could they be fishing for it for some reason?
Submit a CCA request, they will send a statement with that. Or a SAR, as that will include everything, including statements.
If you want it quick, tell them that if they won't send it you will be sending CCA request and SAR to get the info.
If they demand full settlement, and you can't pay, then its either come to an arrangement (Doh!), court or sell the debt to a DCA.
Worth a CCA request anyhow as they are being an ar*e
Have the accounts defaulted on your credit report?:beer:0 -
Put in a subject access request which need to include statements, copies of all correspondence and recorded calls etc etc. They have 42 days to compley, so it islikely to come in dribs and drabs.
Cost £10If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
By the way, have you checked that there was no PPI on the loan or card?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
