Somebody Has Stolen Our Pushchair!

Can I just suggest buying a good D-type bike lock, and securing your buggy/pram when you have to leave it anywhere?
Because of pram thefts where I lived, I had a bike lock for my Silver Cross pram when my kids were small, and they are now approaching 27 & 25, so it is nothing new.0 -
So sorry about the blanket.
I used to lock my son's city mini up when we went swimming as it was out of sight.
Now we have a sola which comes in two parts! We have to leave it outside our local Sure Start Centre and I dont have a lock, I hope and pray every time I'm there that it will still be there when I return! They do have CCTV but I'm looking for a lock that I could possibly use to secure both pieces of my pram.My lil man born 19/11/08...growing so quick :smileyhea0 -
Sadly this is nothing new, but I'm sorry you've lost the lovely blanket which obviously meant a lot
I never liked having to leave the pram or pushchair unattended and bought a metal chain from a diy store and sturdy padlock and kept it in the carrier basket underneath. It was long enough to wrap round most things if I needed to leave it anywhere.
I was especially grateful when I came out of the surgery one day and another mum was complaining her pushchair had disappeared!! Ironically they'd moved mine to get to hers.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -

A few years ago before my mum's house was adapted she used to have to leave her manuel wheelchair in the back garden near the back door. One morning she was getting ready for a hospital appointment, looked outside and the chair was gone. Stolen clean out of the garden. Had to wheel her from the door to the taxi on an office chair, and then use a standard hospital wheelchair at the other end. Reported it, and also contacted the local rag, who ran a small artical about it. about a week later we had a phone call from the paper to say that a kind old man had called up to say a wheelchair had been dumped at the back of his retirement flats. So happy to get it back. If i ever find out who did it, and i think it was kids, i'll murder them...0

Hi OP,
Sorry to hear about this.
You might consider getting in touch with your local paper and see if they are interested in running a story...and you could put out an appeal for the blanket as it has sentimental value? Could be worth a try.
Hope everyone is better, as you were at the GP surgery with poorly kids!

I have just called the surgery yet again and have been told that there is still no sign of the pushchair and that none were left unclaimed at the end of morning surgery. I think it is time to write it off as a lost cause unfortunately. The blanket is still infuriating me though. They got the pushchair, the glider board, diaper bags, and cosytoes, and if their need was so great that they had to resort to theft then I wish them well. But there was no need to take a clearly handmade blanket that I doubt would actually have any financial worth. Would it really have been too hard to just sit it out on the floor?
We have all been prescribed anti biopics as we all have chest infections so carrying 2 children home was a bit harder than it should have been. We will all be fine though.0 -
Im so sorry - this is such a poor reflection on our society. I once had my snazzy walking stick stolen out of my trolley in Morrisons - I was gutted as my stick came from the USA and was a one-off and very bright. I still keep a look out for it now as I would know it if I saw it. Maybe you will see said pushchair being pushed around locally?I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Get a tracker for your next chair. And a lock.0
