Debt and First National

My husband and I have been dealing with Payplan who are fantastic. They have dealt with all the companies that my husband and I owe money to and arranged for interest and charges to be frozen. In return we pay Payplan a set amount each month and they pay an amount (pro rata) to the companies we owe money to. The only company that are refusing to freeze interest and charges is First National. Is there anything we can do? By not freezing interest an charges means our debt to them increases month on month and eventually will be an amount we will never be able to pay back. Does anyone know of any banking code we can refer to that will help us here? Are First National able to do this? Thanks.

  • I'm in a similar position to yourselves only my DMP is with CCCS. They informed me that First National are the most difficult to deal with, they will probably hassle you more than any other company too but eventually they will freeze the interest but it will take quite a bit of time unfortunately. Sorry i couldn't be more helpful.

I've been having the same problem, but with my Clydesdale Bank Mastercard. I'm seriously considering sending a weekly letter asking for the interest to be frozen on the premise it may work just on annoyance value??

Anyone got any other suggestions which might work?
