Travelling to Dubai - currency advice please?

Hi All,

Am travelling to Dubai at end of April.

Have checked my debit card and it flags up as a nightmare card!

Don't use CC - was looking at a prepaid card - but they all appear to be in dollars/euros/pounds - I will mainly be using it as an ATM card but can't work out what I will get charged.

One of the ones on Martin's link says no charge for ATM withdrawals but then says they will add a charge if currency withdrawn is not currency loaded (as it won;t be - withdrawl will be in Dirhams)

If I;m going to be charged anyway is it worth getting one of these cards?

You should. I use a credit card in the UAE and get the interbank spot rate. Try Halifax Clarity Card.

I'm going to Bangkok and Dubai in 3 weeks. I've just applied for this card and was successful, so should hopefully get it this week. Thanks for the tip.
