I've seen something in home bargains today which was £2.99 to make paper pots looked quite good0 -
Plastic tapered cup picnic type with no handle.
Wrap some paper around leaving about 1.5" - 2" below the cup.
Twist the excess really tightly to form a tail. then fold the tail to the bottom and squash it onto the table.

Egg boxes are great alternative too!
Simply cut out each egg cup from the box, pop soil and seeds in. You can then plant it directly out into the garden as the cardboard will rot into the soil!
Job's a gooden!
I personally use coir pellets for convenience, though they can be expensive. Best prices for them are on eBay.0 -
