But the OP "Hopped on bus". Where do the train companies come in to it?
TFL operates trains as well. so my quote was a generalisation of how they use/transfer railway byelaw on to their buses to increase profits.Jeff_Bridges_hair wrote: »Ahh I see you're still knocking about full of either false information and talking rubbish. Read the OP again and then come back and tell us which rail company it was that caught the op.
not rubbish jeff just ur poor attempt at a riposte, please read my above comment and as TFL operate trains they can be classed as a train companyJeff_Bridges_hair wrote: »So much talk but so little knowledge.

They also manage some of the biggest trunk routes and roads in London, also the free ferry across the Thames and the cycle hire scheme and the cable car so it appears they are more than just a train company wouldn't it smart alec"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0

But i hve my passport luckily in my jacket . To prove that the oyster card is mine as the name and address that is registered is a match.
I'm not sure how that could be the case
AFAIK a passport does not have your address on it
There's a bit in the back where you can fill out emergency contact details but, I'm fairly sure your address does not appear in the passport itself0 -
Fines on public transport should be ten times the six month season ticket price. This old discourage fare dodgers and the like.0

All of this is "I don't see why I should have to pay" and there are any number of ridiculous excuses and lies especially the one about the address on the passport mentioned above.
You already seem to have got a wholly unmerited discount on fares but you can't be bothered to carry the right documentation.
It is now £110, Feel free to ignore and perhaps it will climb higher or there will be a court appearance to come.
And as foru sound a little cross jeff but please remember it is an internet forum and everybody is entitled to an opinion even the drivel that come from ur keyboard
For someone who writes like this to accuse another of drivel is, how might it be put, a bit rich?0 -
You would need to see the wording of the act or bylaw they refer to.Be happy...;)0

but thank u for ur comment, worthless as it isBlackbeard_of_Perranporth wrote: »Fines on public transport should be ten times the six month season ticket price. This old discourage fare dodgers and the like.
large fines wouldnt discourage fare dodgers as they would try and dodge the fare even if it was 10p its a daily game of cat and mouse some get caught a lot more dont
so raise the fines ten fold who would this hurt and who would gain from this increase?
well it would hurt the unsuspecting honest passenger who for whatever reason rightly/wrongly has been issued a penalty fare
who would gain well thats easy the train companys christmas party fund
such a policy wud soon drive people off public transportFares Advisor & Oyster Specialist - Newdeal/ukRail Fares Workshop Accredited0 -
