Another ParkingEye Question

Hi all,

I have searched through the forum & read threads about tickets from different Parking Authorities & just wanted to check.

Basically, we went to Aldi & was there for 1hr 49 mins.
19 mins over the apparent stated time limit.

They said fine is £70, or £40 if we pay within 14 days.

I have read through most of the threads & the general consensus is to just ignore.
Just checking to see if this is still the route to take.

We actually shopped there & have the receipt to prove that too.

I'm almost certain to go the way of ignoring it, but would like your suggestions please.

Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Nothing has changed in the last 48 hours and there are lots of threads on situations the same as yours.

2 schools of thought - (1) ignore or (2) appeal (you will be turned down, be prepared for that) then go through POPLA.

If (2), then combine with a letter or visit to the supermarket threatening to take away your business etc.

All the information you need is available on other threads, so, if you want some ready answers, look there.

You could do a number of things.
    Your choice though.
    1. Totaly innore the PPC.
    2. Appeal to the PPC and wait for a POPLA code, then appeal to POPLA. (costs the PPC £30 and any decision is not binding on you.)
    3. Complain very strongly to the store manager telling him that he has lost your custom.
Or you could use 2+3 , or 1+3.
    The choice is yours.
Have a read of the many threads on this forum , you will soon get how the PPC scam works.

    Good luck whatever your decision.

Do what they advised. Ignoring works and it has a proven track record it does.
Or appeal/appeal rejected/POPLA/then ignore PARKING EYE [text deleted by MSE Forum Team] 'threatograms'.

Well I would NOT ignore Parking Eye.

Here's a threads with my advice re Parking Eye:

and some ideas for the POPLA appeal when you get to that stage:

and post #126 here from me today:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2273989

Your first appeal to PE can be vague/soft if you like, or do a 'hard' appeal making it crystal clear you know the issues and will require their contract and proof of possessory title in the land, to be produced for POPLA if they reject your appeal.

Finally, read this interesting thread with great input from the most in-the-know 'big guns' on there like broadsword, discussing 'ignore or appeal':

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=77301

Do not ignore PE is my advice. No-one wants a court claim being aimed at them (very rare - but seems to be aimed at 'ignorers' at the moment).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
