Who does actually own the land the service stations reside upon?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Originally owned by Ministry of Transport and leased to operators. Now not sure as "family silver sold off " by previous governments.
Poor response by AA mentioned "Fine" and "Crime" needs to be educated but did mentioned POPLA0 -

Most are now in the ownership of one or other of the three main operating companies but the DOT still owns around twenty sites in major locations or those leased to smaller operators IIRC.0 -
On this subject I took a picture at an M25 service area a couple of days ago.
It could easily be read to mean that I will receive a notice if I fail to park incorrectly! Presumably the added section constitute the entire "terms and conditions" that are mentioned.0 -
So no time limit specified for that £90 charge. So does that mean that you can now park there for ever? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

It also doesn't define "incorrectly", I can guess what they mean but wish I had taken a picture of the spaces as the lines were about 90% faded in places.
At the time I noticed the fact they were calling it a "CN" but have just realised that the rest of the sign refers to a "PCN" - there was me thinking they had removed the obvious/deliberate similarity in the initials they were using.0 -

Photgraphic evidence mentioned at the end.
Are these camera systems acurate, is the in/out camera on the same time setting?
are they indipendantly calibrated and checke for acuracy?
do they catch people who visit twice in one day/days apart ( first in last out)
As for the sign above, and CP plus, ive had a look through the various websites and the 2 hour limit is there to ensure that the car park isnt clogged up.
I have yet to stop in a motorway service are with a full car park, if the car park isnt full there can be no loss for overstaying ( other than the £10 fee) so how on earth can they justify £90 as a loss (£80 difference)
On the other hand if the service area is close to an airport, ferry port or other such place, £10 for 24 hours or a one off fee of £90 with the ability to park there for ever could save on airport pakring for places like Stanstead/Gatwick, Luton etcFrom the Plain Language Commission:
