I'm not sure he'll "have difficulty" getting insurance - presumably the point is that insurance will be more expensive as he won't have built up a NCD.
In the past, I've been able to use a letter from my company confirming X years' of claim free driving in lieu of a no-claims discount, in order to secure an "introductory discount."
Not sure companies still do that, but you can but ask - I'm sure you can find one prepared to offer something in these circumstances in order to secure a new customer.0 -
I retired five years ago.
I had driven a company car for 25 years, I was able to get insurance through SAGA who accepted a statement from my Company insurers re my driving claims (none!).
SAGA gave me a full NCD. Have been with SAGA ever since, but each year go into battle with them to match the cheapest price I have got by shopping around.0
