LDK parking tickets are they legal?

My boyfriend parked in a street within a housing estate yesterday and when he came back he found a parking ticket on the drivers side of the window. It is through LDK stating that he did not have a permit. The vehicle according to them was parked on private property in contravention of the site parking restrictions as displayed on the signage or permit. He said that there were no signs around therefore is the ticket that he has received legal

    You've asked the wrong question.

Is it legal? Well, yes, anyone can issue an invoice to anyone else, regardless of whether or not that invoice is fair and properly incurred by the recipient.

Is it legally enforceable? In other words if they took him to court would a court find that he should pay it? No.

It won't go to court, the reason is that is not the way these cowboys operate for the most part. And if there are no signs how is someone supposed to know that it's a private road ? Being psychic is not a prerequisite for driving I believe ;)

I wonder if they are members of the British Plumbing Association or the British Painters Association.

  • Anyway, surely they must be OK because they "offer landownership in the UK an ethical, lawful, non-confrontational and cost effective alternative to wheel clamping" ';)

How can it be an alternative to wheel clamping ? That would suggest there is still a choice to be made from one to the other ;)
