Santander - great experience

Hi there
Just a quick message to make a change from the usual horror stories on here to stay how great an experience we have had with Santander.
Basically whole process from start to finish took 2 weeks and have our formal offer today, moving in early April. Have been well communicated with, great rate and overall fine experience.
We were originally worried as I am a new graduate and had been in and out of overdraft but it was no problem...
My brother has also bought a house separately using Santander just last week and had a similar quick and easy experience!
Just a quick post to shoe there is hope out there for those who struggle to get a mortgage in today climate!

Good to hear.
Straight forward stuff is easy with santander and deals can be offered in a week sometimes. Start confusing the junior and senior underwriters with something non-standard, then be prepared for a long drawn out process.
I like the process once the (clean) valuation is completed as offers are automatic and no going back into 'a queue' for someone to state the obvious.0 -
As I have said before, Abbey are good if the case is well packaged and you give them what they ask for, if you try to be clever and argue about a payslip or bank statement for example, that doesn't meet their criteria they will take ages.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I had a great experience back in November with Santander. I was apprehensive given the amount of negativity that Santander gets.0
