Win tickets to the rose weekend at hatfield house
Roses have been symbols of love, beauty, war, and politics, and now in a new event at Hatfield House there will be a glorious celebration of roses and summer flowers.
The Rose Weekend will take place on June 16 & 17 and we have 50 pairs of tickets to be won to this wonderful event where you can enjoy plants and gardens, summery foods or just a relaxing day out – The Rose Weekend has something for everyone.
TV gardener and journalist James Alexander-Sinclair will start the talks programme on Saturday by showing how to use classic plants, such as roses, in contemporary design. The President of the Royal National Rose Society and the President of the Society of Botanical Artists will have superb illustrated presentations for our visitors.
Come prepared with questions for the panel of experts in our fun questions sessions, and then discover the delights of the Garden at Hatfield on the Rose Trails.
Summer music will fill the air as visitors browse the gifts and lovely foods on offer in the marquees in front of the House, including delicious smoked salmon and ideas for summer entertaining. .
A wide selection of plants and horticultural sundries will be on sale from specialist growers and nurserymen. A plant crèche is provided by Perennial to park floral purchases if visitors get carried away!
Hatfield House will be decorated with roses and summer flowers. Delightful music will fill the House during the afternoon, from local pianist Chris Malkinson.
The Coach House Restaurant and the Old Palace will be open throughout the weekend offering a wide selection of lunches, afternoon teas and snacks.
