mattress broken after 4 months amazon seller

a little under 4 months ago i brought a bed and pocket sprung with memory foam top mattress (little less than £400) from a amazon seller after reading good reviews about it and after trying the same type elsewhere.
i went to change the sheets and normally i dont take much notice of the mattress though when i went to put the mattress protector on i notice little holes in the top of the mattress and when i looked more there is around 150 little holes along every seam of the mattress. some of the holes are 2cm wide. it seems the stitching along the seams have came loose and now just ripping at the seams when ever pressure is put on them. i was hoping this mattress would last me 10 years yet the way the mattress is ripping ill be lucky to get another 6 month out of this.
should i return the item and try find a new one (sleep on the floor until then) or should i ask for a refund and see if i can get it repaired (should this be full or part refund)

You should 1st contact the seller and tell them about the problem. It's then down to them to CHOOSE if they will repair, replace or refund.
Don't try and get it repaired all they could use that against you.
Contact them 1st and see what they say. Email with lots of photos should help your case.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
Personally I wouldn't leave it to the seller, tell them what you want to happen. So ask politely for what you think should happen in an ideal scenario.Pinkypants wrote: »You should 1st contact the seller and tell them about the problem. You can give your seller your preference to the repair/replace refund options, but ultimately it is the seller who gets to make the final decision as to which one to go for. (this is stated in the Sale of goods act)0 -
True, but so often with a customer complaint I have no idea what the customer wants from the complaint, sometimes nothing more than sending an email, if the customer tells me it gets a quicker resolution, when I can either do what they ask or negotiate something that is good for both of us.shaun_from_Africa wrote: »You can give your seller your preference to the repair/replace refund options, but ultimately it is the seller who gets to make the final decision as to which one to go for.
