The 4 I ordered came this morning. I have often looked at Seasalt posts in the past but not purchased. Glad I have now though. Bags are really nice and ideal for teacher presents in a few months time. And one for myself of course.

Mine came today, and I love them, but I was surprised to find they smelled strongly of petrol! I can only assume it's the dye or something. Other people have mentioned they smelled damp- has anyone else had this?

Yes mine smell petrolly too- it is the dyes (I bought a cheap tablecloth from Egypt with exactly the same smell).

Hoping a few days hung outside will make them less smelly.

In the past some of mine have arrived with the strong petrol smell but it has always faded. If it's fine weather I peg them on the line and this really helps.

I got my 2 bags too!! even my 3yr old took a liking to one and put all her bits in it! had to take it off her though as it really smells! hoping a few hours outside will help!!

A word of warning for anyone ordering the sailaway jute bags.

These are lovely and a fabulous size however they are very thin and leave a trail of jute threads everywhere. Everytime I use it I end up covered in jute. All down my jumper, all over my car, on my rug, anything it can stick to it will. This hasn't happened with the other jute shoppers I have.

I've used it twice now and I'm hoping it will stop doing it so will try once more, if it's still happening, then it's going back and I'll stick to the normal shoppers.
