Hello
I am usually a lurker on this site but please can somebody help me?
I need single room accommodation in the centre of Nottingham for 4th and 5th October.
I have started looking myself but am not familiar with the city.
I am going to concerts at the Royal Theatre and would like to be closeby.
Travelodge do not have any £26 rooms available as I had hoped for a special offer if booking 6 months in advance. Most of the other chain hotels seem really expensive. I suppose it is the usual excuse that it is midweek and I want a single room.
I do not mind room only and would like to pay no more than £50.
Thank you.

i'm saying nothing - i have a soft spot for donny too! one thing its Goose Fair week you are wanting to stay so will be busy in Notts - the Royal Hotel is actually in the same complex as the Theatre Royal so if you get cheap deal there ideal - There is a new Holiday Inn in the town centre and you could also try The Albany which used to be quite reasonable it was the posh one before the Royal opened -good lucki'm living in a parallel universe0

If you are after a cheap room very close to the Theatre then I would recommend the Premier Lodge on Goldsmith Street. It's onlu a couple of yeras ild and is right next to the Nottingham Trent University and about a 2minute walk from the Theatre Royal. Just did a quick availability check for your dates and it would cost £60 per night.
I'm from Nottingham and your post caught my eye. Good luck.0 -

the Royal Centre and adjoining Hotel does have a car park but i don't know if you have to pay additional charges - the new Holiday inn has a car park but again their may be additional fees - Nottingham is quite bad for parking and swarming with wardens- good lucki'm living in a parallel universe0

I stayed in Nottingham hotels for about 1.5 years all in due to work, and would always recommend "The Westminster Hotel", on mansfield road. It is Best Western so is individually owned (it has changed owner since I last stayed there however) but is small enough to be friendly. I always found the staff great and got to know them quite well.
It is not much more than a 10 minute walk up the hill to get right in the heart of the city centre, about £3 in a taxi, or quite frequent buses run straight along the road.
I wouldn't expect to get a room there though for much less than £60.0 -
Thanks beaker141 I will look into that. It will save City centre parking charges which will no doubt be high. £50 to £60 will be fine.

I live in Nottingham, and would agree that The Westminster is a good option to go with if you don't want to stay right in the city centre - parking is a nightmare ! The Westminster is on one of the main roads out of the city, buses go past every few minutes and taxi's wont be a problem. It is quite close to the Goose Fair site though and as Goose Fair always starts on the first Thursday in October (6th this year athough they have started it on a Wednesday in a few previous years) it would be worth booking early to make sure you get a room. I think they have have their own parking as well which is a bonus.0
